‘Pre-Crime’ detection program begins testing.
A leaked document from the US Department of Homeland Security has indicated that a program designed to detect signs of people about to commit a crime has begun to be tested on volunteers.
The system will scan people for cues from physical indicators such as breathing and heart rate, along with statistical information like gender and ethnicity to “detect cues indicative of mal-intent”.
Currently called Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST), the system may one day be set up at border crossings or at large public events, according to the leaked document. It goes on to reveal that a field test has already been conducted using willing volunteers, with more extensive tests planned which will see certain people asked to do something demonstrating “mal-intent”, to see if the system can screen those people out.
FAST is designed to track and monitor, among other inputs, body movements, voice pitch changes, prosody changes (alterations in the rhythm and intonation of speech), eye movements, body heat changes, and breathing patterns. Occupation and age are also considered. A government source told CNET that blink rate and pupil variation are measured too.

Day 2 - 9:50 AM
Twenty minutes.
At times it feels like swimming through thoughts to come back to the anchor that is in the front and center of my mind.
Breath.
Day 1 - 10:05 AM
Fifteen minutes.
I realized that I have been sacrificing consistency for session length. It’s better to practice every day for a short while than to sit for longer only occasionally.
